Meet your groomer…
Hello, my name is Becki Reis and I began my grooming career a little over 16 years ago in North Carolina at a very high volume, cage-free salon. I gained a lot of hands on experience and learned some very important lessons about dog grooming and dog behavior in a very short amount of time. While learning those lessons, I also quickly realized, that although this “brand” of grooming sounded wonderful from the pet parents’ perspective, from the view of the pooch and their groomer, it could be a very stressful and, at many times, dangerous environment. After a few years, I was lucky enough to take the experience I had gained there and move into a lovely, more private, low volume salon where I was able to take my time and grow in my skillset and talent. I also had the time to grow in my ability to make connections with my furry clients, which created a more balanced and much safer environment for them. After a move to a new city in NC and then eventually a move to Virginia and then West Virginia, I was lucky enough to work at several different types of salons over the years, from high volume and cage free, to private and low volume, as well as cooperate grooming where I continued to learn and progress as a groomer. I was also beginning to understand the importance of both the salon environment and the management process and how they can and do play such an integral role in the experience for the pet and their inherent comfort and safety while in my care. Having gained the experience in several diverse modes and types of grooming over the past 15+ years, I have found that a more quiet and personal approach, where the services can be catered to one dog at a time, is optimal, as well as the safest and with the least amount of stress, for the dog and groomer alike. Being forced to fall into an assembly line process amidst a shop full of barking dogs, constant blow dryers running, ringing phones and distracted groomers trying to do too many “jobs” at once, and exposure to possible parasites and cross contamination from other dogs, are just a few of the things that make up a typical experience for most dogs when they are groomed in a regular private or cooperate salon. I offer a quieter and more peaceful and individual approach to grooming for your pampered pooch. While in my care, your pooch or family of pooches with be my sole priority. They will be taken care of from start to finish by myself alone without the distractions of other dogs or people and I can cater my approach towards what works best for your beloved pet and not just a cookie cutter, one size fits all, method of grooming. Your dog is an individual and I believe in treating them as such as well as adapting the grooming experience towards a more relaxed and enjoyable time for them. I look forward to meeting all of you and your furry friends and helping them to be balanced and healthy and a welcomed part of your family!
